A slow Roll into 2020…
This year has started off more calmly than any other year in recent memory. While calm, it hasn’t necessarily been quiet. It also hasn’t resulted in a well-rounded lifestyle. If I am getting the laundry done, I’m not getting the groceries shopping done. If I’m making progress on one client, I’m dropping the ball on another. But…
I’ve done exceptionally well helping others this year. From bringing meals to those who need a little extra help right now, to housing a foster pup, to running and presenting the first modern quilt meeting of the year, and to driving friends who aren’t able to drive themselves… I’ve been busy. And I am truly enjoying it. There is something very fulfilling for me in helping others, and I am relishing it while I can.
But, I am hoping to focus a bit more on what I actually want to do with my life. The legacy I want to leave. If all was equal, I’d keep volunteering to help others out all day, every day. But… I have bills to pay, chores to do, and kids to raise. So I don’t think that is a feasible option? Sigh.
I’ve been making a concerted effort to make some decisions though. I saw the above image on @moonomens on Instagram and it really resonated with me. Not only because it is really powerful, but also because it highlights some areas I came into the year trying to address. “Create who you are… change old routines… build the life you want.” I’ve made some lists. I’ve brainstormed some ideas. Now… to execute. Ok 2020, let’s do this!
